The “Shishnitzel – Nir Galim” project, dedicated to the memory of the heroes of the Iron Swords war, began in the days after October 7 and has run every single Friday for more than two years. It provides challah rolls with hot schnitzel, pastries, fruit and other treats to thousands of soldiers across every combat zone — with a focus on those currently inside Gaza, Lebanon and Syria.

Our Heroes
A weekly tribute to Israel's fallen heroes
Each week the activity is dedicated to the memory of an IDF or security-forces member who fell in the fighting. Bereaved families join us and share their loved one’s story with the volunteers who come. Thousands of soldiers receive the sandwiches bearing the fallen’s photo and story — creating a deep human link between their memory and the fighting happening right now on the ground.
The families speak of the power of the experience, of the calls that come back from the field — and of the feeling that their loved one’s memory keeps living and making an impact.
